Simba SC Held to a Draw in CECAFA Kagame Cup Opener

Simba SC and Mogadishu City shared the points in a goalless draw.

Jamus FC moved to the top of Group B after beating Singida Black Stars 2-0, while Simba SC and Mogadishu City shared the points in a goalless draw.

Tanzanian giants Simba SC began their 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign with a 0-0 draw against Mogadishu City of Somalia in their opening Group B match.

Simba SC controlled much of the game and created several scoring opportunities, but failed to break down a disciplined Mogadishu City defense. Despite enjoying more possession, the Tanzanian side could not find the winning goal, forcing both teams to settle for a point.

The result leaves Simba SC and Mogadishu City with one point each as the battle for a place in the knockout stage gets underway.

Earlier in the day, South Sudan's Jamus FC made a strong start to the tournament by defeating Singida Black Stars of Tanzania 2-0. The victory earned Jamus FC three points and the top spot in Group B, while Singida Black Stars remain at the bottom without a point.

Simba SC will now be under pressure to secure a victory in their next group match to improve their chances of reaching the semifinals, while Jamus FC will aim to maintain its winning momentum and strengthen its position at the top of the group.
