A new Imbuto Hub has officially opened in Bugesera District to expand opportunities for young people by providing practical skills, vocational training, and support for entrepreneurship.
The facility was inaugurated on July 24, 2026, by Rwanda's First Lady, Jeannette Kagame. Established through a partnership between Imbuto Foundation and Bugesera District, the hub will also promote sports, early childhood development, and provide guidance on health and community well-being.
Speaking at the launch, Jeannette Kagame said opening the hub during Rwanda's Liberation Month symbolizes the country's continued commitment to empowering its people and building a stronger future.
"Liberation is not just a single day. It is a daily journey for every citizen to become capable, confident, and actively contribute to the development of their family and the nation," she said.
She emphasized that meaningful change begins with small but determined steps, adding that this principle has guided the work of Imbuto Foundation since its establishment.
"When you look closely, every great journey begins with a single step. A house is built one stone at a time. Likewise, a tree begins as a small seed planted in the ground, but when that seed is nourished with fertilizer, water, and sunlight, it grows into a strong and flourishing tree. That is the philosophy that guides us at Imbuto Foundation," she said.
The First Lady said the foundation believes that every individual has the potential to succeed if given access to education, healthcare, values, and opportunities that allow them to develop their talents.
"We believe every person is like a seed. When they are provided with quality education, good health, strong values, and opportunities, they can grow, transform their families, and contribute to the development of the country," she said.
Reflecting on the 25 years of Imbuto Foundation's work, Jeannette Kagame said many of its initiatives have produced positive results, while stressing that investing in people is a long-term commitment.
"Some seeds have already borne fruit, while others are growing more slowly because building a person is not the work of a single day. Today, we are not only inaugurating a building; we are planting another seed," she said.
The newly opened Imbuto Hub is expected to help young people develop practical skills, nurture their talents, and increase their chances of creating employment for themselves. The center will also provide services aimed at improving the overall well-being and development of the wider community.
